Introduction of Our GCE A Level
Gandaki Higher Secondary Boarding School formerly known as Nepal Adarsha Bidhalaya located at Lamachaur, Pokhara, was established
on 11 June 1966 as a result of the initiation of the Ministry of Education,
Nepal, the United Mission to Nepal, and the local community. It was
designated as a co-educational regional school in 1985 with English
as the Medium of Instruction in an agreement between then His
Majesty’s Government and the United Mission to Nepal. The school
is an autonomous body which functions under the direction of the
management committee headed by the Regional Education Director,
Western Development Region. After the withdrawal of UMN’s
involvement in GBS in 2005 the school has been functioning as a Public
Trust Institution, and the technical support and supervision have come
under the Ministry of Education, Nepal. Read more....
Welcome from the Principal
It is our pleasure to welcome you to Gandaki Higher
Secondary Boarding School (GBS). We are delighted to
announce the completion of 43 years of successful operation
of GBS established by Ministry of Education (MOE), Nepal
with the support and management of United Mission to
Nepal (UMN) and local people. Presently it has been run,
as a non-profit educational institution, by the Management
Committee chaired by Regional Education Director under
Public Educational Trust. We have always been driven by
the mission to becoming an international center of academic

Nestled in the hills surrounding Pokhara’s scenic city, GHSBS enjoys
an idyllic setting, just a few minutes journey by bus from the city centre.
Pokhara is also the country’s most important tourist destination that
offers cultural and economical dimensions that no other city can rival.
GHSBS has been the academic heart of the Western Development Region
for over 43 years and it continues to produce high quality Bachelor
and Higher Secondary Graduates that provide the next generation of

Scholarship
Students are divided into 4 houses to run extracurricular activities efficiently and competitively. Extra curricular competitions includes various sporting activities, singing and dance, quiz, essays, poetry elocution, spelling etc. Different clubs are organized according to the interest of the students. Various sporting activities are also organized at the student's own initiation.
